Long Lost Friends

Saturday was wonderful! We had a sort-of family reunion, if you will! We got together with dear close friends, and it was absolutely wonderful to see them all! We were trying to figure it out and I think we decided that it had been about 9 years or so since we last got together. Too long...too long to go without seeing family! : )

Thing 1 & Thing 2 were very excited to meet their "new" friends. Everyone got along so well, like they'd known each other forever! Thing 1's already begging for a sleepover with Bella! (Soon, Peanut, soon...I promise... : )

As is so usual for our family, there was tons of food (including 2 pounds of pasta salad, compliments of R&D...wow, that's a lot of pasta salad!) Everything was delicious. We had the infamous Wacky Cake with real Butter Cream Frosting for J9's birthday. (Aunt Carol, don't forget to send us your secret frosting recipe!) The kids ate more chocolate on Saturday than I think they have all year...oh, and quite possibly a few too many sodas! There were water balloons, horse shoes, Banzai Falls (see other post!), lessons on recycling, closet designing...But we forgot to do the candy toss, much to my kids' disappointment (though at first they thought they now get the whole bag to themselves! No such luck!)

It was a wonderful day and we can't thank you all enough for coming all the way out here for the party! We're so happy we were able to get together and hope we can do it again soon! (At least before another 9 years goes by! : )
