This past weekend we celebrated Thing 2's 7th birthday at the local pottery painting place. It was a lot of fun. The kids got to pick out pretty much any piece they wanted to paint. There were skulls, surfboards, horses, hearts & cupcake trinket boxes, gymnasts, motorcycles... and a big Bear bank! (That's what Thing 2 chose for his piece!) They painted and painted and painted. Then it was time for dessert. If you've been following along, you'll remember that Thing 2 is not a big fan of the cake, so we did another ice cream bar of sorts. Only this time, there was a lot less toppings...and a lot less mess! They enjoyed it all the same!
It was such a nice time that the other moms and I have decided we're going back on our own sometime! A little wine, a little cheese, no kids, no hubbies...anyone interested in joining us? If we get enough people, we can reserve the entire place to ourselves! (And depending on how much wine, who knows what our pottery will look like by the end of the night?!)
